Splendid Art Nouveau bronze medal: Italy Turin Engineering Regia Scuola Ingegneri Torino 50th anniversary 1861-1911, bronze medal by Vito Pardo, struck by Nelli. 61mm. Allegory of Scientia kissed reverently on her head by figure of Fame holding the victor’s palm and in the other hand Nike, Zeus’ messenger of victory. On the other side view of the School of Engineering buildings and on scroll, the commissioner of this medal: Assoc Amiche ingenieri ex Allievi della Scuola di Torino (Alumni Association of the School of Engineering). Delightful medal, lovely to hold in the hand, cleverly using the scroll design to provide the right way to hold and appreciate this little sculpture. School is now the Polytechnic University of Turin.
