William Dunnett Spanton 1840-1822 was an eminent surgeon see Royal College of Surgeons website for a biography.
The reverse is blank but lightly engraved

Fenwick was a pupil of Joseph Moore and founded his firm in Birmingham around 1888 but he had already made a lot of medals for Queen Victoria’s 1887 jubilee
