France Louis XIII 1624 Foundation stone laid of the Louvre Extension bronze medal by Pierre Regnier (c.1577-1640) 32.6mm. diameter, 4.8mm. thick, struck, flat surfaces. Laureate head of the king with colonnaded building reverse. Attractive medal. In 1624 Louis XIII laid the foundation stone of an extension to the Louvre.
