France: colonial connection as Rodolphe Rey was a lawyer (avocat) at the Court of Appeal (Cours d’appel) in Alger.
Albert Pommier (1880-1943) Â met Rey while the artist was residing at the Villa Abd-el-Tif en 1919. Â Pommier is known for his depictions on medals of the infantryman during WW1 and also of north African themes.
