WW1 “dog tag” Military reuse of India Delhi Durbar medal engraved with a German name so ? German East Africa

Rupee size Cu-Ni medal given to School children in India struck at Bombay and possibly at Calcutta as well

Puddester 911.2.5 listed as silver but we believe all are made of Cu-Ni

The small hole is original so it could be worn.

The name Kalla is of German origin so I suspect it is a reuse of the medal with the King and Queen’s portraits erased (making it appropriate for German use)

There was a large Indian presence in German East Africa.

This is a most unusual object.
