Rontgen discovered and described Rontgen Rays in 1896 – they were named X-rays later.  He was given the Nobel prize for Physics in 1901.

So this is a really early reference to X-rays

Brady & Martin were Newcastle based chemists and equipment makers founded about 1855 and continuing for over 100 years, They  were at 29 Moseley Street.
