Rimsky-Korsakov Russian composer, teacher and musician,  bronze art medal by Serge Ponamarew 1967.  Bilingual French/Russian.

Rimsky-Korsakov 1844-1908, best known for his orchestral compositions e.g. Scheherezade, and operas, e.g. The Snow Maiden.

The obverse of the medal features the composer, bearded in old age,  facing us, with ornamentation in the Russian folklore style, the boat symbolising the musician’s naval career.  The reverse references his musical compositions.
