Morocco / France, Marcelin Flandrin Photographer silver jeton advertising token 5 March
25.3mm silver  Rare.
Marcelin Flandrin 1889-1957 went to Morocco in 1901 and served in the French military after 1912 as a military photographer during the Rif war.
He then settled in Casablanca as a photographer, doing studio photos and known for his photos of semi-naked Moroccan women in local dress, creating a type of exoticism.
The significance of the date 5 March is not obvious and we have no satisfactory answer to give.
He was involved with the Morocco pavilion at the 1922 (April-Nov ) Marseilles Colonial Exhibition
By style this looks to be 1920’s in date.
