France Raymond Joly (1911-2006) medal by Siv Holme for exhibition 1967 Musee Monetaire, Un Medailleur d’Aujourd’’hui.

Head in profile right;

reverse. Musee Monetaire Paris janvier – mars 1967. Holme’s interpretation through abstraction of Joly’s work and technique.

Joly trained as an engraver, studied with Henri Dropsy, won the Prix de Rome in 1942 and was Chief Engraver at the Monnaie de Paris from 1957.

Very tactile medal 1966 4/250 Br(onze) light patina . Bronze 75.5mm.
