I E & M E Gray scientists portrait bronze medal 1863 57mm. John Gray (1800-1875) was a zoologist naturalist and numismatist, aided by his wife Maria Emma. He was Keeper of the Zoological department at the British Museum, 1840-74. Also President of the Botanical and Entomological Societies. The reverse inscription Trust in the Lord and Do Good is from Psalm XXXVII.3. Medal signed GG Adams Sc. 1863. Ref. BHM 2787
