WWi Sinking of the Lusitania satirical medal by Goetz English version in brass – rare. Cunard Line booking office, run by a skeleton, selling tickets for the passenger liner which was sunk by German U-boat. Reverse – the sinking ship with date 5 May 1915. English copies of the original medal made by Karl Goetz where he had the date wrong were issued to claim that the Germans intended to sink the ship despite the fact that civilians were on board. English cast medal 54mm. quite crude. Rare in this metal which is brassy rather than bronze. Used as propaganda in World War I BHM 4118,
