Van de Vathorst, born Utrecht, training as a sculptor at the Rijksacademie in Amsterdam before marrying and settling back in Utrecht in 1952.Noted for his large sculptures like the doors of Utecht cathedral as well as such tactile hand held sculptures as this medal.
