Germany: silver medal commemorating Mecklenburg Heiligendamm seaside resort established 1793.  Small silver medal 33mm.

Heiligendamm’s spa buildings were opened in 1793 and its founder and first guest was the Grand Duke of Mecklenburg Friedrich Franz I.  It was a seaside destination and tourist spot on the Baltic for Germany’s aristocracy.

This medal references the elegant resort building BALINEUM DOBBERKANENSE CONDITUM – MDCCXCIII  (Spa at Bad Dobran built 1793)

On the other side is an obelix inscribed with the crowned initials FF, CIVIUM EX SALUTE GLORIAM PETIT   He seeks the city’s praise through health (works)

Now the site of an exclusive 5 star hotel which hosted the G7 in 2007.
