British India Sports medal, bronze Deolali Cricket 1926

Deolali was a British Army transit camp 100 miles north-east of Mumbai, where there were Staff training Schools. It was a comfortable place to be in the hot summer months.  Deolali became in British Indian army slang doolally  (or doolally tap – Urdu for fever) for going slightly mad, whether induced by the heat, stress or boredom.
