We’ve been busy in lockdown (2 auctions and lots of cataloguing) but even so we’ve missed seeing you all at the usual coin fairs and congresses. So here’s an update of what is happening in the near future, and what you might have missed.
First coin fair post lockdown, the Bloomsbury Coin Fair is organised by John and Sophie Philpotts. Start is 9.30 (until 14.30) Saturday 3 October. Mainly British and Roman on offer. We won’t be stalling out but will attend as visitors You will need to register with them first though online to attend.
Coinex and September London Coin Fair are both cancelled but there may be the possibility of the LCF at the Holiday Inn being held on the first Saturday in November. Much depends on how the current pandemic develops or indeed falters and ebbs.
Zoom and YouTube have provided us with many lectures (not the same as a study day or an evening in London). Check out the websites of the Royal Numismatic Society, British Numismatic Society, the Oriental Numismatic Society and the American Numismatic Society. I almost forgot: Token Corresponding Society. We’ll miss the annual congress this year. If you’re not already a member, consider joining one or more of these clubs..
So, while 2020 seems a bit of a washout for meet-ups, the diary for 2021 is rapidly filling up – London coin fairs, Coinex, FIDEM in Tokyo; see our Events page for up to date news.
