France Germiny-des-Pres Carolingian Oratory and Romanesque chapel with portrait of Charlemagne – bronze medal by Robert Coutre 1959 59mm. Oldest part of the church dating back to 806 AD is the chapel of the villa of Theodulf, adviser to emperor Charlemagne. Coutre was a student of Bouchard, Dropsy and Wlerick. Made several medals on architectural themes for the Monnaie de Paris including this one.
