Heiligendamm’s spa buildings were opened in 1793 and its founder and first guest was the Grand Duke of Mecklenburg Friedrich Franz I. Â It was a seaside destination and tourist spot on the Baltic for Germany’s aristocracy.
This medal references the elegant resort building BALINEUM DOBBERKANENSE CONDITUM – MDCCXCIII Â (Spa at Bad Dobran built 1793)
On the other side is an obelix inscribed with the crowned initials FF, CIVIUM EX SALUTE GLORIAM PETIT Â He seeks the city’s praise through health (works)
