Jan Masaryk, (1886-1948) post-war foreign minister of Czechoslovakia (now Czechia and Slovakia) and son of Tomas Mazaryk (first president of Czechoslovakia until 1935). Â Jan was initially said to have committed suicide in 1948 two weeks after the Communist Party took power. Â In 2004 Czech police concluded he was murdered; defenestrated, pushed out of a window. Â The police closed the case.
