Leishman, a Scottish pathologist noted for his work on malaria and kala azar while working in India, Â was Director General of the college from 1923-26.
The Leishman prize was for the highest achieving student in the in house Class 1 exam for individual trades of the RAMC or RADC
The medal is normally silver gilt but this example is silvered bronze, having come from Pinches archive (we bought several medals from the archive back in the 1980s when it was dispersed at auction and elsewhere.) Â 51mm. matte finish. Â Not awarded
