The foundation was started in 1931 and the Shakespeare Preis has been awarded since 1937. Noted recipients include Ralph Vaughn Williams, John Masefield, Harold Pinter, and many notable actors and actresses. High relief cast medal 87mm. in original suede presentation case with the logo, a fountain, of the foundation stamped in gold. We do not know who received this particular medal.
