Anthony R Michaelis 1916-2007 bronze medal 75th birthday space & science journalist 1991 AE 68mm. Reverse shows an Astrolabe – – he was president of the Astrolabe Society – Scientia Communicavi (I communicated knowledge) with a list of the places he worked, e.g. CIBA, Research Films, Discovery magazine, science correspondent at The Daily Telegraph in London, worked on research into toluene, a component of aviation fuel in WW2, He also collected medals and banknotes on scientific themes, donated to a German museum, having been born in Germany and evacuated to England before WW2 because of his Jewish background. Only fitting therefore that his friends should strike a medal for him on this 75th birthday.
