GB, Jenny Lind, First appearance in London portrait medal by Allen & Moore. Draped bust of Jenny Lind, bareheaded facing, 1847 date on truncation. On the reverse a lyre within a garland of flowers, a nightingale above. Nescit Occasum – Never eclipsed. NATA 1821 (born 1821). White metal 55mm. gVF rare Jenny Lind was known as the Swedish Nightingale and became a naturalised British citizen in 1849. She became Professor of Singing at the Royal College of Music.
